Cabinet widths follow the wall, not a 150mm increment; cabinet heights follow the ceiling; and the internals follow how you actually cook. We build the kitchen, the island, the pantry and any matching utility or boot-room joinery ourselves in Stratford-upon-Avon. ### Who it is for It suits homeowners renovating or extending, people working with period rooms where walls are out of square, and anyone who has looked at a showroom layout and realised the compromises are being made at their expense. There is no fixed price list, every project is priced individually because every project is made to measure. A deposit of 30–50% is taken depending on the size of the work. ### Materials we use Cabinet carcasses are built from stable, moisture-resistant board rather than standard chipboard, because the area under a sink and beside a dishwasher is where kitchens fail first. Doors and frames are made in solid timber or in MDF where a painted finish needs to stay flat, and drawer boxes are constructed to carry loaded pans rather than cutlery alone. Painted kitchens are hand-sprayed in coats, with each coat cut back, so the surface stays even across large door faces. Timber kitchens are worked in oak, ash and walnut with grain matched across runs. Hinges, runners and lifts are specified to the weight of each individual door, a tall larder door and a base door are not the same problem. ### Methods and coordination The survey records floor level across the whole room, wall plumb, ceiling fall, window reveals, and the position of every service. Kitchens are unforgiving of level: a run that is 8mm out over four metres shows in the worktop joint, so the base line is set and packed before anything is fixed. We coordinate with worktop templaters, appliance installers, plumbers and tilers so the sequence works. Our in-house electrician handles the joinery-side electrics, plinth lighting, under-cabinet lighting, internal drawer lighting and switching, which removes one of the most common causes of delay on a kitchen fit. ### Variations of the service In-frame and lay-on door kitchens. Shaker, flat-panel, beaded and fluted door styles. Islands with seating overhangs, prep sinks or integrated storage ends. Walk-in and cabinet pantries with internal shelving, spice racking and worktop space. Utility rooms, boot-room runs, drinks cabinets and larder units built to match.
